Father & Son Gauchos

Our house in Areco

Pirulin

On the 11Th November Argentina celebrates its gaucho traditions in a festival called Dia De la Tradicion.

On the weekend we went to San Antonio De Areco. Our bus was late so the caretaker of the house we were staying at didn't think we would come so she left. We had to wait and wait and wait in the pouring rain. Sofia and I climbed the fence so we were nice and dry but my mum and Lucia were soaking wet, I felt sorry for them. Then the caretaker came and showed us the house. We went out because the rain had stopped. We went for lunch then to the festival where there were rodeos with horses, races with horses and almost everthing with horses.

The next day there was a parade in the plaza of all the gauchos and horses that competed in the events.

My favourite part about Dia de la Tradicion was the horse rodeo.

La Falda Cordoba

Me playing Uno with Sofia.
Sofia at the Neverland(a fun park in a building) .

Me at the train museum.

Villa Carlos Paz

Me and Sofia playing wacky gator.

On the twenty-ninth of October we went to La Falda. We had a great time. When we got there, there was a dog. Sofia got so scared she started to act like a scardy pants but the dog was harmless and it couldn't run because it was too old, seven yrs old.

We went around the neighbourhood and went to Neverland and we had had great time there too. There were so many games I can't name them all! The same went for the three other days.

At the hotel there was a swimming pool and we went swimming every day.

On the last day Sofia got used to the dog.

We miss La Falda, the dog and the pool!

Parque de la Costa

On Saturday we went to Parque de la Costa with Rodrigo and Francisco.

We had a great time. First we went on this thing that went round and round then on that thing were more things that went round and round.

The Ferris wheel was very high and we could see down the river El Tigre and people looked like ants on the ground.

Then we went on the dodgem cars I thought it was going to be easy but it was way harder with lots of dodgem cars. Then we had lunch while Rodrigo and Francisco went on a really scary roller coaster ride.

Then we went to see the water show, it wasn't on so we went to the Laser Shots. It was really fun because you got go around in this dark place carrying laser guns (not real lasers just harmless lights) and vests with lights on them. We had to shoot the other team´s lights and you got points for accuracy. This was my favourite part of the park.

Afterwards we queued for ages to go on water dodgem boats. While we were in the queue the water show was on so we had some entertainment while we waited.

The last thing we went on was the jumping castle and you got 10 minutes and it was lots of fun in there because there were secret passages inside.

We looked around some more but all the rides were finished and the park was closing. We came home and had a long rest. We were very tired after being out for 14 hours!

It was a great day with my cousins.

fiesta de la flor

It took a long, long, long time to get there we went on a train. It took ten stations to get there and I stood up the whole time, then we decided to take a very long bus trip but we didn´t have much change for the bus fare so we took the subway (underground train)and it was a lot faster. Then we took a bus with windows that inside the bus you can see through but not outside. Finally we got there and we saw a nutria swimming in the lake. It looks like a bear cub but can swim. We also saw beautiful water foutains, nice flowers and horrible flowers like carnivorous plants.

science museum

Today I went to the science museum, it was really cool! Some of the exhibitions are things like an under water tornado, a bicycle electricity generator and this small version of a tornado.
We went on a combi (minibus) and we were on a the widest road in the world with 16 lanes!Wow!
When we finished doing everything, we went to an Italian restaurant and my mum said it had the worst pizza she ever tasted. After that we went to Freddo´s ice-cream shop and I had choc-mint with chocolate ice-cream.

It was really yummy but I couldn't finish it all.
